Sony launched two new smartphones Xperia R1, Xperia R1 Plus

Sony has quietly launched two new smartphones in India, Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus. The Xperia R1 has a Rs of 12,990, while R1 Plus will be available at Rs 14,990. Both smartphones will be available for purchase starting November 10 at Sony Centers and major retail stores. Smartphones will also be available online through Amazon India and Flipkart. You can choose to pre-register for smartphones in Amazon India and take advantage of a special offer.

Sporting with the same design in black and blue color options, the Xperia R1 and R1 Plus differ only in terms of RAM and storage. The Xperia R1 has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. On the other hand, the Xperia R1 Plus comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in memory. The expandable storage option up to 128GB is also offered via a microSD card on both smartphones. In addition, Sony has confirmed the update of Android 8.0 Oreo on both smartphones, although the external box software is Android Nougat.

The Xperia R1, R1 Plus features a 7.2-inch (720p) HD screen. Smartphones work with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core 64-bit processor. In the photography department, smart phones have a 13 megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor sensor, flash LEDs, autofocus and digital zoom up to 8x. On the front, the smartphones host an 8 megapixel camera for selfie and video calling. Rear and front cameras support up to ISO 3200 for photos and ISO 2400 for videos
Both the Xperia R1 and the R1 Plus are powered by a 2.260 mAh battery. On the front of the software, smartphones run Android 7.0 Nougat from the factory. Connectivity options available include dual-SIM and 4G VOLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C support for data recharging and transfer. Smart phones also offer Uplink Data Compression (UDC), which speeds up the download of 50 percent web pages. The Xperia R1 and R1 Plus models are also "Broadcast 4G Ready", which Sony says will provide a better experience for broadcast live events, real-time transmission, and firmware file delivery.
