Airtel now offers 50GB of 4G / 3G data with its postpaid mobile subsribers at Rs 999. Airtel's new plan to counter the Reliance Jio Rs 999 plan that offers 90GB 4G data to its Prime subscribers.

JIO offers unlimited voice calls, unlimited SMS and free 90GB data with Rs 999 recharge. Jio has recently increased the validity of this plan from 60 days to 90 days.
The country's largest network operator Bharti Airtel also offers the data transfer option where users can transfer unused data from their current plan to the next month. The plan is available for new and existing subscribers. Airtel also offers a pre-paid Rs 999 tariff plan with a 4GB daily data advantage over the 3G or 4G network. Under its prepaid plan, the company also offers 50% cash with Airtel Payments Bank. With the Rs 999 Infinity plan, Bharti Airtel offers unlimited local and STD calls with unlimited roaming for incoming and outgoing calls.

Airtel has been at the forefront when it comes to counter Jio's plans by offering free voice and data benefits. Despite the rise of Jio to 130 million subscribers, Bharti Airtel has seen no consolidation in its user base. The company announced its partnership with Karbonn to launch a smartphone capable of competing with JioPhone. The Indian Karbonn A40 is rated at 1,399 in Rs and Airtel will announce similar products to increase its presence in the segment.
